Blackberry Gift Shop is a shop and artist’s co-op based in Port Moody, British Columbia. The co-op includes artists working in a variety of disciplines, including painting, textiles, jewelry, and ceramics.

While the work of the individual artists is quite different, there’s an overarching atmosphere and tone that I can feel, looking through the examples of work on the Blackberry Gift Shop portfolio website. Each artist approaches their own chosen medium with an exuberance and an eye to detail, and each artist’s works have a distinct, unique feel to them.
There are plenty of artists in the co-op producing wearable work -- jewelry artists Linda Chow, Violet Finvers, and Luci Gimenes produce pieces that are contemporary and interesting in their own ways. Beryl Hickinbottom’s scarves have a cozy, rustic aesthetic about them, while Jane Ostenstad’s scarves are airy and summery. Blackberry Gift Shop hits a great balance, supporting its artists without stifling their creative voices.
