Brónagh Corr is an artist currently based in Derry, Northern Ireland. The artist works in a variety of media, including photography, and multimedia collaborations. Brónagh’s photographic works often centre on candid shots of people and places.

I really enjoy the works in Brónagh’s recent series of photographs, both black and white and colour. The artist’s film photography takes on the slightly blurred, sepia-toned aesthetic of bygone days, lending weight to photos of a local band, or shadowed portraits. The artist’s colour photos feel more documentary in intent, though here Brónagh also displays an eye for colour and its influence on composition.

In our previous feature of Brónagh’s artworks we looked at the way the artist is inspired by nature -- Brónagh’s photographic portfolio also features close-up imagery of plants and flowers. The artist’s portfolio also encompasses work producing and leading senior art workshops, and it’s great to be able to see some of the original works produced under Brónagh’s direction.
