Today’s featured artist, Aly King, is a professional photographer currently based in London, England. Her photography has been published in a number of well-known magazines including The Times, Life Magazine, and the Daily Mail.

Aly’s striking and polished photography really shows off the her talent for framing a shot. In her latest series, the Queens, she uses variations on lighting and costume to lend each model a well-defined persona, while keeping to a very cohesive overall concept. Depending on the needs of the client and the nature of the shoot, Aly’s photographs can range from stark and minimalist, to overtly theatrical.

Recent works by the artist use flowers as a recurring motif. Flowers serve as elaborate headdresses and costumes for models, or as complex backdrops and settings, as in her series, Cynoza. More of Ali’s photographs are available on Aly’s website: Aly’s work is also available for purchase on Saatchi Online.
