Each week we present a collection of artwork from a variety of artists curated around a common theme. This week the theme is Toys. As in childhood. As in the nostalgia of brightly coloured plastic, and fabric. I chose the theme of toys for this week's curated collection to revisit the experience of digging through boxes of my childhood belongings one cold Ontario night in my parent's garage. My formerly cherished items had faded, their magic replaced by sad musty smells. These artists capture the bright inspiration that toys possess whether saved, revisited or abandoned. Here are some carefully selected artworks curated around the idea of toys.
