"Kaleidoscope C12" Digitally altered photograph of an original painting by Amber Macgregor

Today we are taking a look at the artist website for Amber Macgregor. Her portfolio features some of this psychadelic kaleidoscopic effect. These works are digital photos created by digitally altering her paintings. It a very interesting way to create a different version of artwork from the original and the effect is quite stunning. There is a very surreal quality to them and at the same time I feel like I'm looking at something scientific/genetic as though they are cell structures viewed through a microscope.

"Amber MacGregor was born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada in 1971 to Scottish Immigrant parents. She is currently working out of her studio, Polkadot Moon in Victoria BC, creating a series of Moon paintings, silkscreen prints, portraits and kaleidoscopic photographs.
